The History of
Mohawk Tower – Past and Present.
In July of 1954 E. Edwards and R. Francisco formed a partnership in the Francisco Tower Service. Our services included the installation, painting, maintenance, etc., of Communication towers. Ms. Edwards was raised around the construction industry all of her life. Her father, a full blooded Native American (Mohawk), was a contractor engaged in bridge construction. Mr. Francisco learned rigging in the Merchant Marines and after being Honorably Discharged in 1954 he started the Francisco Tower Service.
In 1972 the Francisco Tower Service became incorporated as Francisco Tower Inc., with B. Francisco owning 49% of the stock and E. Edwards having the controlling interest with 51% of the stock. They continued to grow and service a vast array of clients including large Communications companies, Government entities, and also performed service for various civil organizations.
In 1974 E. Edwards formed a company called B & E Foundations Inc., and B. Francisco worked as the Supervisor of the installation of foundations, towers, antennas, lines, etc., and all other aspects of tower installations. Ms. Edwards owned 100% of the controlling stock and equipment. They continued to grow and provide service for many clients in the communications industry.
In June of 1992 all equipment and contracts from both Francisco Tower Inc., and B & E Foundations Inc., were merged into one company incorporated as Mohawk Tower Inc., with E. Edwards having the controlling interest with 60% of the stock and B. Francisco owning 40% of the stock and the company remained in this configuration until 2004 when B. Francisco became retired and he now serves in the capacity of a consultant.
